Why The “Great Resignation” is Occuring in HR

by Alan Collins

In 1929, a stock market crash created the Great Depression.

In 2008, a massive bank financial crisis manufactured the Great Recession.

Today, due to the pandemic, we’re in the midst of the Great Resignation.

People are leaving their jobs in droves.

Here’s why this “Great Resignation” is occuring in HR…

Your work and HR contributions
aren’t VALUED!

That’s the reason.

It’s just that simple.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Not sure what to do?

Let me help.

Here’s what NOT to do.

First of all, don’t just mope around complaining that you’re undervalued.

Instead, try this.

Get your value reassessed by a new company.

Translation: interview for new HR positions.

-Have your salary recalculated.
-Interview with new potential bosses.
-Size up different work environments.
-Give your HR job title a makeover.

You deserve it.

Just don’t complain.

Sign on with an organization that values what you bring to the party.

Huge shifts are happening right now as we speak in all corporate organizations.

Value and loyalty stopped decades ago for the vast majority of companies.

Here’s what a highly regarded HR VP, who has now put himself on the job market, recently told me…

Sadly, due to the pandemic, I’ve found that many organizations have dropped the ball in how they treat their employees. They’ve ignored their personal desires for more flexibility, remote work and less toxic workplaces. And, people have stopped putting up with their s**t! And, this has now created an employee’s job market for the first time in years and it’s causing an overdue correction.

So take your time when evaluating new HR positions.

Understand your worth.

Enjoy this rare opportunity.

There’s no need to put up with being undervalued.

If it’s a choice — choose yourself!

Just sayin’.

This is a very interesting look at the current situation that many companies are experiencing. Many articles dealing with ‘The Great Resignation’ are usually focused on how HR should deal with attracting and retaining talent, when in fact, HR professionals themselves are seeking new roles as well.
