Many people I’ve talked to that are over 55 get frustrated and even bring their job search to a halt because they perceive age discrimination, or think every rejection letter or e-mail they get is a proof of discrimination.
This unfortunately is reinforced by the brand new Bureau of Labor Statistics stats show that those who are 55 and over are spending four weeks longer to find a job than those under 55.
QUICK TIP! If you’re a boomer and having struggling to land that big HR job you want…forget the Fortune 500. Right now they’re downsizing and restructuring…big time! Target small to mid-sized companies, companies on the Inc. 500 list or brand new business start-ups that would kill to have a seasoned, experienced, battle-tested HR pro like you who’s been there and done that.
