25 Things I’ve Learned in HR — The Video!
by Alan Collins
I’m sharing out some learnings I’ve shared before…this time video-style! 25 lessons based on 25 years in HR. These are truths I’ve gained from lots of personal screw-ups. A few successes. Three companies. Sixteen HR jobs and other HR folks I’ve worked with who either guide me or inspire me. Only 3 minutes long. Turn up the volume on your computer first. Play. Sit back. Enjoy!

Great tips Alan, just what I needed before going on my work trip. And, ironically It’s a three day training cert for change management. I especially like the one about taking the breath mint, I can’t encourage that one enough. lol

Great presentation Alan! I especially appreciate you promoting being a mentor to someone in HR- “Become that coach for someone else.” What a great way to give back to the profession. I am proud of the men and women who have worked for me, taken my advice and now are top HR leaders at a variety of organizations. Be encouraged today- Mark A. Griffin

I’ve been really struggling with thoughts of leaving the HR community. I have more than 30 years in personnel and human resource management. Your video is wonderful and extremely timely for me. I promise to find and read your book as soon as I can find it.
David W – understand your frustrations fully – however with your experience, we need your voice in HR – note the last point in the video.
